OTELINOX was established on June 01 1974, following an international auction won by Japanese companies NISSHIN STEEL CO Ltd. for manufacturing of cold rolled stainless steel strips and sheets and DAIDO STEEL Co. for manufacturing of hot rolled small profiles and wire rod.

Otelinox receives QMS and IMS certification including ISO 9002, 9001, 14001 as well as ISO TS 16949 and OHSAS 18001

Starting 1998 until 2001, SAMSUNG dedicates itself to rebuild and develop OTELINOX, so this will have, in the nearest future, an important role in the Romanian economy, as well as within SAMSUNG group. A large program of investments was implemented, aiming for the upgrade and automate of the equipment, but also new investments. Currently, Rolling Mill no.1 Plant has been modernized to satisfy the highest international standards.

In order to increase capacity of our precision products and to improve surface quality, we installed a new modern degreasing line in Rolling Mill No. 2 Plant.

In April 2010, a new production unit was finalized – Rolling Mill no.3 Plant. The project for the new production unit started in September 2007 and the works were of large scale. This new Rolling Mill produces high precision stainless steel wide strips, with thickness between 0.1 and 1.5 mm and widths between 30 and 1250 mm. The cold rolling mill is the third high performance Sendzimir rolling mill in Otelinox.

The ISO 9001 applies to all the sites of the organization. At the same time, IATF 16949 is applicable for the organization sites that produce service parts or parts for car assembly, not the aftermarket parts. The ISO 9001 focuses on customer satisfaction, while the IATF 16949 focuses on customer-specific requirements.

In 2020 we decided to increase our capacity by installing a wide degreasing line. Our current production capacity has been expanded by efforts of all members from previously ~60.000 MT/year to ~70.000 MT/year.

Also, due to the fact that the OHSAS 18001 standard was withdrawn, it was needed to be replaced with ISO 45001. This standard is the reference that specifies the requirements of an occupational health and safety management system, together with the guidelines, which allows an organization to and improve performance in the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses.
